'Hansan: The Appearance of the Dragon' Set to Release in 99 Countries

Lotte Entertainment announced on the 27th that the film Hansan: Rising Dragon is set to be released in ninety-nine countries. Distribution rights contracts have been signed with distributors in North America, France, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, and more. In North America, the film will hit screens on the 29th. It will be released in Australia and New Zealand on the 4th of next month, and in Taiwan on the 19th. It is rare for Korean historical drama genre films to attract such international attention. Lotte Entertainment explained, "Overseas buyers focused on the commercial appeal of the war action genre, featuring highly polished naval battle scenes and strategic warfare." They added, "It is meaningful to be able to widely promote the proud history from 430 years ago and the world-renowned admiral Yi Sun-sin." Hansan: Rising Dragon is a grand war action film highlighting the Battle of Hansando, where Admiral Yi Sun-sin and the Joseon navy overwhelmingly defeated the Japanese forces. Directed by Kim Han-min, who also directed Myungryang, the film stars Park Hae-il, Byun Yo-han, Ahn Sung-ki, Son Hyun-joo, and Kim Sung-kyu.
