The National Police Agency announced on the 26th that it plans to conduct a feedback collection process targeting on-site police officers at the rank of sergeant and below by visiting each provincial police agency over three days starting from the 27th. The agency explained, "Many police colleagues have presented various opinions on police system improvements based on their affection and sense of duty toward the police, but there have also been voices calling for a more comprehensive and systematic feedback process. We intend to create an official public forum to gather opinions from on-site police officers."
As the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Police Bureau issue escalates and the scheduled meeting for sergeants and lieutenants on the 30th is being expanded to a meeting involving all 140,000 police officers, reflecting growing opposition from the police frontlines, this is interpreted as a preemptive measure to establish an official venue for collecting opinions. Previously, ahead of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s final announcement on police system improvements on the 15th, the National Police Agency also visited provincial police agencies to hold meetings with workplace council representatives and on-site staff.
The schedule will start on the 27th at Sejong Police Agency, followed by visits on the 28th to Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan, Northern Gyeonggi, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Gyeongbuk Police Agencies, and on the 29th to Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Southern Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungbuk, Gyeongnam, and Jeju Police Agencies, covering all provincial police agencies nationwide. Specific details about the process will be separately announced on the bulletin boards of each provincial police agency. Through this schedule, the National Police Agency plans to collect opinions not only on necessary measures related to police system improvements but also on overall future police organization management and communication methods within the organization.
