Korea Railroad Gwangju Jeonnam Selects Winners of Train Drawing Contest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) Gwangju Jeonnam Headquarters announced on the 26th that it conducted the judging for the "Train Painting Contest Carrying the Environment," held to raise awareness of children's rights and environmental protection.
The contest was held from the 5th of last month, Environment Day, until the 4th of this month, targeting children and adolescents aged 6 to 15 within Jeollanam-do. A total of 293 entries were received (259 from the elementary division, 34 from the middle school division).
The judging panel, composed of representatives from KORAIL Gwangju Jeonnam Headquarters, Jeollanam-do Office of Education, Hampyeong County Art Museum, and Save the Children, evaluated the works based on criteria such as artistic quality, creativity, and human rights orientation. A total of 16 works were selected as winners (6 excellent works by category, 10 special awards).
Winners will be notified individually, and a separate awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in August.

A KORAIL official stated, "We are pleased with the enthusiastic participation driven by the interest and support of local residents," adding, "Some of the winning works and other submitted paintings will be exhibited at major stations within Gwangju and Jeonnam, so we look forward to much interest and encouragement."
