Yisangil, Mayor of Yongin, Strengthens 'Communication and Cooperation' with Key Organizations and Groups
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Sang-il, mayor of Yongin, has begun strengthening communication and cooperation with major institutions and organizations in the area.
Yongin City announced that Mayor Lee visited a total of 10 institutions and organizations, including public institutions, military units, security organizations, and senior citizens' associations within the city, over two days from the 25th to the 26th.
On the 26th, Mayor Lee met with officials from the Korea Senior Citizens Association Yongin Cheoin-gu Branch, Yongin Eastern Police Station, 55th Infantry Division, Yongin Western Police Station, and Korea Senior Citizens Association Yongin Suji-gu Branch to listen to current issues and difficulties.
Earlier on the 25th, he visited the Ground Operations Command, Yongin Fire Station, Yongin Office of Education, Republic of Korea Veterans Association Yongin Branch, and Korea Expressway Corporation Suwon Branch.
During his visit to the Korea Expressway Corporation Suwon Branch, Mayor Lee especially requested special attention regarding the construction of the Semiconductor Highway.
The construction of the Semiconductor Highway connecting the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, semiconductor companies, and Yongin Platform City is one of Mayor Lee's key campaign pledges.
At the meeting, Mayor Lee emphasized that the construction of the Semiconductor Highway is essential to improve east-west transportation in Yongin, ensure the successful settlement of the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster, and foster the materials, parts, and equipment (SoBuJang) industry.
