Gwangju Buk-gu, 2022 Low Birthrate Response Idea Contest
Call for Ideas on Low Birthrate Overcoming Policies, Slogans, and UCC in 3 Categories Until the 7th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 26th that it will hold a contest for the ‘2022 Low Birthrate Response Ideas’ until the 7th of next month to discover ideas to overcome low birthrate.
This contest was prepared to build consensus on low birthrate and to spread a family-friendly atmosphere in the region regarding childbirth and child-rearing.
The contest categories are divided into three: ▲Low birthrate response policies ▲Low birthrate slogans ▲UCC (User Created Content).
Participants can propose ideas to raise awareness of low birthrate, improve systems related to pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing, and caregiving.
Any citizen residing in Gwangju can participate, and related documents can be submitted to the Child Welfare Division by referring to the Buk-gu Office website.
Buk-gu will announce the winners in October and award the Mayor’s Commendation along with prizes: Grand Prize (1 person) 500,000 KRW, Excellence Prize (2 persons) 300,000 KRW each, and Encouragement Prize (2 persons) 200,000 KRW each.
The winning ideas will be actively reflected in district administration.
Mayor Moon said, “We hope for active participation from residents to create a happy city that is good for having and raising children.”
Meanwhile, Buk-gu is promoting various public-private cooperative projects related to low birthrate, such as ‘Low Birthrate Response Promotional Video Production’ and ‘Low Birthrate Awareness Improvement Relay Campaign.’
