KT-Aegis Join Forces in the Digital Twin Field
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] KT announced on the 26th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Aegis Co., Ltd. to discover and expand business opportunities in the digital twin sector.
Through this MOU, KT and Aegis will jointly build a digital twin platform service capable of various simulations based on 3D maps and 3D spatial information, and will also collaborate to provide digital twin platform services to government agencies, local governments, and general enterprises.
KT is utilizing its "next-generation game streaming solution," currently used in its cloud gaming service Gamebox, in the digital twin field.
This solution, developed by KT Convergence Technology Institute, allows games installed on cloud servers to be enjoyed via streaming, enabling high-spec games to run regardless of the device's specifications.
By applying this to the digital twin field, it becomes possible to operate a high-definition digital twin platform even on low-spec devices.
Aegis, with over 20 years of experience in 3D spatial information processing technology and having developed its own GIS (Geographic Information System) engine, plans to cooperate in processing three-dimensional precision data such as 3D maps and 3D spatial information, and collaborate in building and providing disaster safety, integrated control, and facility management simulation systems.
