Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Launches Support for Technology Escrow and Protection for SMEs
Technical Escrow and Protection Support for Safeguarding Core Technologies and Management Information of SMEs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced on the 25th that it will promote the '2022 Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Technology Deposit and Technology Protection Support Project' to prevent leakage of core technologies of SMEs at Yeosu Gwangyang Port and strengthen corporate competitiveness through the protection of management information.
The technology deposit system is a system that stores SMEs' core technical data and trade secrets, as well as management information, at the 'Technology Data Deposit Center' of the Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Fisheries, to prevent leakage.
Additionally, the technology protection project is a win-win growth project that supports prevention of technology theft and damage relief through the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Technology Protection Fence' to protect SMEs' intellectual property rights.
YGPA plans to publicly recruit a total of 20 technologies for deposit from SMEs at Yeosu Gwangyang Port and support technology deposit fees up to 6 million KRW.
For the technology protection support project, YGPA plans to support up to 4 million KRW in project expenses for a total of 7 companies, promoting support projects such as on-site consultation by technology protection experts and matching with government technology protection support systems.
YGPA will continuously recruit and support SMEs wishing to participate in the technology deposit and technology protection projects until the initial recruitment target is reached.
President Park Seong-hyun stated, "The technology deposit and technology protection support projects to protect SMEs' core technologies and management information are highly significant in enhancing corporate competitiveness and self-sustainability," and urged many SMEs at Yeosu Gwangyang Port to show interest and participate.
