"Let's Change the Library Like This"... Future Library Idea Hackathon Competition
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Library Information Policy Committee is recruiting participants for the "Future Library Policy Idea Hackathon" until the 25th of next month. The purpose is to create future library policies together with the public.
The fields are "Digital Transformation and Library Services" and "Realization of the Social Value of Libraries." Participation is possible in teams of up to five members.
Six teams selected through the first proposal screening will participate in the hackathon activities for four weeks. The Library Committee plans to provide expert mentoring and activity expenses to participants. Applications will be accepted from the 16th to the 25th of next month.
The final awards will be announced on November 2nd, the second day of the "2022 Korea Library Festival." One Grand Prize, one Excellence Award, one Encouragement Award, and three Honorable Mentions will be selected, with certificates and prize money awarded.

A representative of the Library Committee said, "Through this hackathon, we hope to discover innovative ideas about the role of libraries in realizing social value amid changing environments such as digital transformation," and added, "The Library Committee will strive to prepare policies that bring libraries closer to the lives of the people."
