[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jeong-wan] In an apartment in Sejong City, two sisters and the children of the younger sister were found dead.
According to the Sejong Nambu Police Station and Sejong Fire Headquarters on the 24th, at around 1:19 a.m., two women in their 30s and 40s were found dead in an apartment in Naseong-dong, Sejong City.
Responding to a report from a nearby resident who heard a "thud," the fire authorities transported the sisters, who had fallen from the 27th floor, to a nearby hospital, but they were pronounced dead.
Notably, at around 3:40 a.m., two elementary school children, the younger sister’s children, were found in a state of cardiac arrest inside the home where the sisters lived.
It was also reported that suicide notes written separately by the sisters were found. The sisters were living with their two children without other family members, according to the investigation.
The police and fire authorities believe that the sisters caused the deaths of the children before jumping to their own deaths, and are investigating the exact cause.
