Lee Haeng-sook, Deputy Mayor of Incheon, is receiving the appointment letter from Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, on the 21st.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Lee Haengsuk, the first female vice mayor of Incheon, serving as the Vice Mayor for Balanced Development and Political Affairs, took office on the 21st.
Vice Mayor Lee skipped a separate inauguration ceremony and began her duties after visiting various departments to greet the staff.
Following the organizational restructuring on the 29th, her title will change from Vice Mayor for Balanced Development and Political Affairs to Vice Mayor for Culture and Welfare Political Affairs. She will oversee youth, women, welfare, culture, sports, tourism, and communication sectors.
In her inaugural speech, she stated, "Through Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok's three core administrative philosophies of balance, creativity, and communication, I will devote all my efforts to making 'Incheon, a world-class city where citizens are happy.' I am confident that by fully utilizing Incheon's unique strengths and working as one team, Incheon's dream will become the future of the Republic of Korea."

Vice Mayor Lee completed her master's and doctoral courses at Inha University Graduate School. She has served as the Chairperson of the Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation in Incheon, adjunct professor at Cheongwoon University, Chairperson of the People Power Party's Seo-gu Eul branch in Incheon, Director of the Korea Future Policy Institute, and a member of the transition committee for the 8th term Incheon mayor.
