Woo Sang-ho Proposes Countermeasure: "Conduct State Audit and Special Investigation on Presidential Office's Private Hiring and Repatriation of Defector Fishermen"
"Feudalistic Appointments Centered on Close Aides Fail to Gain Public Consent"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Woo Sang-ho, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized on the 17th regarding the presidential office's 'private recruitment' allegations, asking, "What was the fairness of President Yoon Seok-yeol, who investigated the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk?" He then proposed revealing the suspicions through a state audit.
At a regular press briefing held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Woo referred to the controversy that arose after it was revealed that Woo Mo, the son of the district election commission member of the acting leader and floor leader of the People Power Party, was working as an administrative staff member in the Social Affairs Office of the presidential office, stating, "This is a challenge to Yoon Seok-yeol's version of fairness."
Chairman Woo said, "The person who became president by exploiting the 'dad's chance' that caused a sense of deprivation among countless young people is engaging in actions that deny the values of fairness and common sense he advocated," adding, "If Mr. Woo was not an acquaintance of President Yoon and Representative Kwon, he would not have been able to enter the Blue House (presidential office). Didn't Representative Kwon also admit that he 'planted' him?"
He continued, "I was very surprised by the idea that there is no problem because it was a level 9 position with low wages," and said, "Everyone knows that experience working at the presidential office is a very advantageous position when competing for party nominations." He then pointed out, "The problem with this administration is that they do not realize how much hurt they have caused to many people," and added, "The continuous collapse of approval ratings is due to a lack of minimum reflection and introspection." He also said, "Feudalistic appointments centered on close aides who cannot distinguish between public and private matters are not gaining public consent."
Chairman Woo stated, "The hiring of presidential office staff and the successive movements of acquaintances of the president and first lady are not matters to be taken lightly," and said, "I think a state audit is necessary." He further said, "Coincidentally, the People Power Party proposed a state audit or special investigation into the issue of repatriation of North Korean fishermen, so if that is the case, there is a need to conduct a state audit on the private recruitment and unofficial influence controversy as well," proposing, "We should accept the state audit they suggested and conduct this state audit, so there is a need to proceed with two state audits."

Chairman Woo said, "Although they said they wanted to conduct a state audit, they will not actually do it when it comes to it," and added, "There are many things the public is curious about. Why those people were able to enter the Blue House (presidential office), and whether proper procedures were followed. I am curious about how the employees of Kobana Contents got in." He then criticized, saying, "What kind of department is the Civil Society Affairs Office in this administration? What kind of activities can the children of those who were in the election camp engage in with civil society? Is it an office for communication with those who took off their shirts in Yangsan and hurled insults at former President Moon?"
