Gwangju City Council Completes Election of Standing Committee Chairs for the 9th Term First Half

On the 15th, the Gwangju Metropolitan Council announced that during the 2nd plenary session of the 308th extraordinary meeting, four standing committee chairpersons were elected: the Administrative Autonomy Committee, Environment and Welfare Committee, Industry and Construction Committee, and Education and Culture Committee.
Im Miran was elected as chairperson of the Administrative Autonomy Committee, Jo Seokho as chairperson of the Environment and Welfare Committee, Kim Nayoon as chairperson of the Industry and Construction Committee, and Shin Sujeong as chairperson of the Education and Culture Committee.
Subsequently, after receiving recommendations for council operation committee members from each standing committee, Jeong Daeun, Chae Eunji, Lee Myeongno, Choi Jihyeon, Kang Suhoon, An Pyeonghwan, Shim Cheolui, and Shim Changwook were appointed and approved as council operation committee members.
The chairperson of the council operation committee will be elected at the 3rd plenary session on July 21, after the candidate registration deadline at 6 p.m. on the 18th, thus completing the formation of the chairperson group and standing committee chairpersons for the first half of the 9th council.
