Homeplus prepared Matnani Agricultural Products to stabilize the cost of food threatened by high inflation. Matnani Agricultural Products refer to normal products classified as out-of-grade due to shape and size not meeting distribution standards, but with no issues in freshness, taste, or nutrition. The term implies that although the appearance may be imperfect, the taste is good. In fact, sales of the Matnani fruit "Beautiful Taste Pear" sold at Homeplus from the 4th to the 10th showed about a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
Through the sale of Matnani Agricultural Products, Homeplus plans to contribute to reducing customers' shopping basket burdens with affordable prices and provide new sales channels to farmers, realizing a win-win value that satisfies both customers and farmers.
First, 5 types of Matnani fruits such as apples, tomatoes, and tangerines will be introduced at 134 Homeplus stores nationwide. For Matnani vegetables, they will start with 8 types of vegetables including carrots, cucumbers, and radishes at 10 stores, with plans to expand the applicable agricultural products and stores later.
