Seongnam City Resumes Issuance of 'Health Certificates' at 3 Public Health Centers After 1 Year and 8 Months
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will resume issuing 'Health Checkup Certificates' (formerly health certificates) at the health centers in Sujeong, Jungwon, and Bundang districts starting from the 18th. This comes after a suspension of 1 year and 8 months due to COVID-19 spread prevention and infectious disease response measures.
The Health Checkup Certificate is an essential document that food-related workers, such as those in restaurants and school meal services, must obtain every 6 months or annually under the Food Sanitation Act to confirm the presence or absence of infectious diseases like typhoid fever and tuberculosis.
Until now, industry workers have had to visit the Sujeong District Health Center, which is far from their workplaces, or pay 20,000 to 30,000 KRW at nearby clinics (3,000 KRW at health centers) to obtain the Health Checkup Certificate.
In response, Seongnam City has decided to issue the Health Checkup Certificates by prior reservation.
To prevent crowding at the same time slots and to comply with quarantine rules, reservations will be accepted for only 5 people every 30 minutes. The number of reservations may be adjusted depending on the infectious disease situation.
The issuance period for the Health Checkup Certificate is one week. Applicants can print it by accessing the online Government24 or Public Health Portal, or visit the respective health center to collect it.
In addition, the city has also resumed other health center services such as issuing various certificates including health checkup reports and tuberculosis confirmation certificates, free health checkups for prospective and newlywed couples, and operating 'Working Pregnant Women’s Day' on the third Saturday morning of every month.
