Launch of Incheon City Administrative Innovation Preparation Team... Appointment of 11 External Members to 4 Subcommittees

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] A municipal innovation advisory body responsible for discovering innovative policies for the 8th term of Incheon’s local government has been launched.
On the 14th, Incheon City held the first meeting of the 'Incheon City Municipal Innovation Preparation Team,' composed of 11 external members, to discuss the target tasks for municipal innovation and the operation direction of the preparation team.
The preparation team leader is Attorney Ryu Gwonhong, who served as the vice chairman of the transition committee, and the deputy leaders are former Incheon City Personnel Department head Lee Hakgyu and Kim Songwon, Secretary General of the Incheon Federation of Civic Organizations.
Additionally, members appointed include Hwang Hyojin, former president of Incheon Urban Corporation; Kang Heechan, professor at Incheon National University; Choi Wongu, senior researcher at the Korea Local Tax Research Institute; Lee Sanggu, CEO of ANF Public Design Institute; Yoon Junghye, professor at Jaeneung University; Jo Jungmi, administrative director of the Namdong District Council of the National Unification Advisory Council; Lee Hangoo, former Incheon City council member; and Ryu Mina, former spokesperson for the People Power Party Incheon City Branch.
Among the 11 total preparation team members, 7 are from the transition committee.
The preparation team is divided into four subcommittees: Personnel (Organization) & Public Relations, Finance & Economy, Welfare & Culture, and Balanced Development Policy. Until the launch of the Innovation Team, it will play an advisory role on key policies related to municipal innovation, including discovering innovative policies, institutional improvements, and evaluating the implementation status of innovation policies.
It also plans to focus on preparing improvement measures for existing policies and practical plans for the three core values of the 8th term?balance, creativity, and communication.

Mayor Yoo Jungbok said at the preparation team appointment ceremony, "To secure the driving force for innovation in the 8th term of municipal government and complete Incheon as a top-tier city where citizens are happy, we must continuously practice and develop the three core values," adding, "The roles will be undertaken by the Municipal Innovation Preparation Team and the Municipal Innovation Team, which will officially launch in October."
