Gwangju Seobu Fire Department Holds Safety Experience Day Event Visiting Schools
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 14th, Gwangju Western Fire Station announced that it held the ‘Visiting 119 Safety Experience Day’ event at Yangdong Elementary School located in Yangdong, Seo-gu on the 13th.
On this day, six experience booths covering three areas?fire safety, first aid, and natural disasters?were set up for faculty and students to ‘see,’ ‘feel,’ and ‘experience’ safety.
The experience booths included ▲ cardiopulmonary resuscitation ▲ emergency first aid for airway obstruction ▲ trauma first aid ▲ fire extinguisher and fire hydrant experience ▲ fire suppression simulation ▲ and ‘I am also a firefighter’ activities.
The Western Fire Station plans to supplement theoretical education and operate year-round as a ‘Mobile Safety Experience Center,’ targeting schools located on the outskirts of Seo-gu that may be excluded from safety education.
Chief Moon Hee-jun said, “We plan to further implement experiential education programs to complement knowledge-based education on actual emergencies such as fires and urgent situations,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various experiential education programs to prevent safety accidents.”
