Design and Portability Combined... LG Electronics Launches 'UltraPC Edge' Laptop
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] LG Electronics announced on the 14th that it will launch the 'UltraPC Edge' laptop.
The LG UltraPC Edge features a slim design with a thickness of only 16.7mm at its thickest part, sharp right-angled corners, and a charcoal gray metal exterior to emphasize a premium look.
The new product comes in two sizes: 16-inch and 14-inch. LG Electronics explained that while maintaining the overall size of the existing UltraPC laptops?15.6-inch (39.6cm) and 13.3-inch (33.7cm)?they reduced the bezel to increase the screen size to 16 inches and 14 inches respectively, allowing customers to enjoy a larger display.
The flagship 16-inch model (approximately 40.6cm diagonal) is equipped with a high-capacity 72 watt-hour (Wh) battery yet weighs only about 1470g, offering excellent portability.
This model features a high-resolution IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2560×1600 (around 4 million pixels) in WQXGA specification. The panel applies Anti-Glare technology to reduce light reflection and glare.
It is also equipped with AMD's latest Ryzen Barcelo processor, providing a comfortable working environment even for light video editing or handling large documents. Memory options include either 8GB or 16GB depending on the product specifications.
Based on face and gaze detection technology, the MiraMatrix (LG Glance by Mirametrix®) feature locks the screen when the user leaves, and blurs the screen or displays a warning message if someone is behind the user, enhancing security when using the product in public spaces.

LG Electronics will start selling the 16-inch LG UltraPC Edge model on the 15th through the LG Electronics Online Brand Shop (OBS), as well as online malls such as Musinsa and 29CM, and offline electronics stores nationwide. The 14-inch model is scheduled for sequential release next month. The starting price ranges from 1,090,000 to 1,900,000 KRW for the 16-inch model, and from 1,040,000 to 1,600,000 KRW for the 14-inch model, depending on specifications.
