[Photo] Second Highest Ever Overseas COVID-19 Influx... What Is the Airport Like Now?
Due to the spread of COVID-19, the number of new confirmed cases surged to over 40,000 for the first time in about two months. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 13th at midnight that the number of new confirmed cases was 40,266, including 398 cases imported from overseas. This is the first time in 63 days since May 11 (43,908 cases) that the number has exceeded 40,000. Notably, the 398 imported cases are the second highest ever recorded. The previous highest was 406 cases on January 14, during the early Omicron wave. The increase in arrivals following the exemption from quarantine for incoming travelers and the expansion of international flights has had an impact. Here is a collection of scenes from the bustling Incheon Airport filled with travelers.
