Hanbyun: "Moon, who forcibly repatriated North Korean fishermen, accused of attempted murder"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The Lawyers for Human Rights and Unification of Korea (Hanbyeon) announced on the 13th that they will file a complaint against former President Moon Jae-in as the person responsible for the forced repatriation of North Korean fishermen.
Hanbyeon stated, "Primarily, we will criminally charge former President Moon with attempted murder and complicity in unlawful detention, and alternatively with dereliction of duty," adding, "Forcibly repatriating them despite the expected death under the Kim Jong-un regime is a serious crime violating the Constitution and international law."
They continued, "It has been revealed that the repatriated fishermen even personally wrote statements of intent to defect, disproving the Moon Jae-in administration's 2019 announcement that 'there was absolutely no intention to defect,'" emphasizing, "The forced repatriation scene of the North Korean fishermen shown in the photos released by the Ministry of Unification is an inhumane crime scene that cannot be overlooked."
