[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Lotte ON is supporting customers' summer vacations by holding a vacation look discount event.
Lotte ON announced on the 13th that it will hold the "Little Vacation" event until the 20th. During the event period, about 70 popular fashion and accessory brands from department stores have been selected to propose vacation destination fashion. Customers who purchase from these brands will receive up to a 10% card discount and up to an 8% discount coupon.
With the full-fledged summer vacation period returning after three years, demand for related products is surging. From the 1st to the 10th of this month, Lotte ON's sales of vacation-related products showed that "season wear," including swimsuits and beachwear, increased more than 15 times compared to the previous year, while "sportswear" and "hats" each more than doubled. Sales also grew more than sevenfold as more customers sought "travel bags."
To capture the demand for summer vacations, Lotte ON set this month's shopping theme as "Vacation." In line with the theme, it introduces domestic and international vacation spots weekly and suggests related products. From the 1st to the 10th, the "Wannabe Vacation" event was held, introducing popular resorts worldwide and popular brands by country. As a result, department store product sales during the event period increased by 30% compared to the previous year, confirming a rise in customers preparing for summer vacations.
Until the 20th, for customers who still find overseas travel burdensome, hidden travel destinations within Korea will be introduced. Valley attractions such as Samcheok in Gangwon-do, Jirisan, and Gapyeong will be promoted, and fashion and products related to water play will be sold at discounted prices. About 70 popular brands including Nike, Adidas, Crocs, and Arena are participating, offering discounted prices on fashion and accessory items such as rash guards, hats, and sunglasses.
Meanwhile, until the 17th, the "On.Chin.So (Introducing Lotte ON's New Friends)" event will be held, focusing on newly launched brands related to summer and vacation products. Selected brands include "Manyeogongjang" for summer skincare, "Bodyguard," an underwear brand known for comfortable wear, and "Cardoc," a car care product brand. Up to 20% discount coupons applicable to eight brands will also be provided.
