[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it has selected 10 new startups to participate in this year’s ‘Public-Private Cooperation-Based Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Startup Development Project’ and will begin full-scale support in collaboration with private companies such as SK Telecom, Samsung Electronics, Hana Bank, Hana Financial Group, Shinhan Financial Group, KB Financial Group, and IBK Industrial Bank of Korea.

The participating companies are MediIPlus, Kernelog, Potapy, Nubylab, Misikuisidae, Difly, Javer, IDCT, Iyus Social Cooperative, and Asleep.

Launched in 2020, this project supports promising ICT startups (within five years of establishment) discovered through startup programs operated by private companies, jointly by the government and the private sector, focusing on advanced technology development and market expansion.

The government provides a total of 500 million KRW in technology development funds over three years, while the private sector offers customized startup programs such as technology and commercialization mentoring, startup spaces, investment attraction, market development, and testbeds.

This year, startups from various fields including artificial intelligence (AI), data, and blockchain were selected, with many innovative environmental, social, and governance (ESG) projects included that contribute to social value creation, addressing global issues such as environmental and social problems.

Meanwhile, the private companies participating in this project plan to support the high growth of promising startups by utilizing their own resources and capabilities.
