On the 12th, Samsung Electronics announced that it launched a virtual space called 'Samsung Space Tycoon' on the metaverse platform Roblox. Using a management simulation game (tycoon) format, participants can directly create Samsung Electronics products with alien characters in space and enjoy them as game items in this virtual space service.
Samsung Electronics stated that it prepared the service so that young customers, including Generation Z, can experience making and enjoying virtual Samsung products in the metaverse. The goal is to allow them to naturally experience the Samsung brand and communicate together. The tycoon is set against the backdrop of the Samsung Space Research Center where aliens research new products. It consists of three areas: a mining zone to obtain resources, a store to purchase items, and a lab to manufacture products.
Participants can mine resources to transform Samsung Electronics products?from smartphones to various home appliances?into diverse designs and purchase or upgrade game items. In the virtual space, the foldable phone 'Galaxy Z Flip' is used as a bag or scooter, the 'Jet Bot' vacuum cleaner becomes a flying hoverboard, and the lifestyle TV 'The Sero' is used as a single-person helicopter. This allows actual products to be used as game items.
Items composed of over 20 types of Samsung Electronics products are offered in various colors depending on achievement levels. They are regularly updated with the latest products in each series. The tycoon is simultaneously released in 14 languages including Korean, English, Chinese, and Spanish. In addition to the game, functions such as dance parties for participant interaction will be added in the future.
Samsung.com will also hold customer events linked to the '#YouMake' campaign. Participants can experience the customized '#YouMake' service by selecting various Samsung products such as refrigerators, TVs, and smartphones in their desired combinations and colors. They can share the products made and collected in the game as well as enjoy the tycoon experience.
