'Preparing for the COVID-19 Resurgence' Operation of One-Stop Medical Institutions in Haenam-gun
One-Stop Service for Examination, Diagnosis, and Prescription Available at Haenam General Hospital and Others Designated
[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] On the 8th, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has designated and is operating 12 locations, including Haenam General Hospital, as ‘COVID-19 One-Stop Medical Institutions’ where COVID-19 patients can undergo testing, diagnosis, and prescription at respiratory patient treatment centers.
At the designated medical institutions, individuals with suspected COVID-19 symptoms or those requiring medical care can quickly receive testing, diagnosis, and prescriptions in a one-stop process.
Severe patients requiring hospitalization are admitted to dedicated beds according to the bed allocation procedures of the public health center, while mild patients can be admitted and treated autonomously in general isolation beds after diagnosis by local clinics or hospitals.
As COVID-19 has been reclassified from a first-class to a second-class infectious disease and transitioned to the general medical system, home treatment costs, which are relatively small compared to hospitalization treatment costs, will be borne by the patient starting July 11 according to government guidelines.
However, the government will continue to support the costs of COVID-19 treatments such as Paxlovid, injectable drugs, and the significant patient co-payments for hospitalization treatment.
Additionally, residents of care facilities without resident doctors, who are isolated in the facility due to underlying conditions and difficulties in hospitalization treatment, will continue to receive treatment cost support.
A county official stated, “In preparation for a resurgence of COVID-19, we will operate respiratory patient treatment centers without any gaps so that residents can easily and quickly receive diagnosis and treatment.”
