Busan City Appoints Song Bok-cheol, Former Ministry of Strategy and Finance Director, as New Special Economic Advisor
Expectations for Key Roles in Attracting Domestic and Foreign Investment and Securing National Funds to Address Economic Issues
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City announced that it will appoint Song Bokcheol, former Director General of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, as the new Special Economic Advisor effective July 8 to promote key economic pledge projects of the 8th local government administration, attract domestic and foreign investment, and resolve major economic issues such as securing national funds.
Special Economic Advisor Song Bokcheol graduated from the Department of Public Administration at Busan National University and passed the 37th Administrative Examination in 1994, beginning his public service career at Sasang District Office in Busan.
He subsequently served in various positions including the Ministry of Planning and Budget, Public Institution Local Relocation Promotion Team, Ministry of Strategy and Finance’s Regulatory Reform Legal Affairs Officer, Management Innovation Manager, Legal and Budget Manager, Institutional Planning Manager, Director of the Statistics Education Center at Statistics Korea, and Director of Economic Statistics.
Advisor Song, a seasoned official from the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, is expected to faithfully fulfill his role in expanding Busan’s economic scope, attracting domestic and foreign investment, and securing national funds based on his extensive public service experience and broad network.
