Wando-gun Secures 6.7 Billion KRW for General Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Project

View original image[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been finally selected for the 2023 General Rural and Fishing Village Development Contest organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries with the Geumbitan (安) Area Happy Living Space Creation Project.
According to the county on the 5th, this contest project was planned by discovering hidden resources throughout the village with the cooperation of residents, achieving the great success of being selected under the theme "Mundapwal Millennium Forest Beautiful Living Space, Geumbitan Area."
The project target site is Cha-u Village in Geumdang-myeon, and the project effects are expected to extend to seven villages including Bongdong and Ulpo Village.
From next year until 2026, a total of 6.7 billion KRW will be invested over four years to expand basic living infrastructure, provide resident capacity-building education, and operate various programs.
Detailed projects include establishing a carbon reduction energy joint supply network for island villages, remodeling public bathhouses and senior welfare centers, maintaining the Geumbitan community space, and improving the safe living environment in Geumbitan, along with education for local leaders and residents, and cultural and health programs.
Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Governor, said, "I thank the residents who showed great interest until the contest project was selected," and emphasized, "We will steadily promote this project to improve residents' living conditions and quality of life."
