Gwangju Nambu Fire Station "Install Residential Fire Safety Equipment to Protect Safety"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 5th, the Gwangju Nambu Fire Station announced that it urges the installation of residential fire safety equipment (fire extinguishers, standalone smoke detectors) to prevent human and property damage caused by house fires.
According to current law, fire safety equipment must be mandatorily installed in all general residences except apartments and dormitories (single-family, multi-family, multiplex, and row houses, etc.). At least one fire extinguisher per household and per floor is required, and one standalone smoke detector is needed in each compartmented room such as bedrooms and living rooms.
Fire extinguishers are more effective than one fire truck, and standalone smoke detectors help reduce fire damage by sounding an alarm to prompt quick evacuation and early fire suppression.

From March to October, they are providing free installation of residential fire safety equipment (fire extinguishers, standalone smoke detectors) to about 2,500 households, along with education on maintenance and usage.
