"This Time Carbon Neutral" FILA Produces K League Jeju United 'Recycled Uniform'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] FILA Korea announced on the 4th that it participated as a partner in the 'Carbon Neutral Soccer Match' hosted by Jeju United, a professional soccer K League 1 team, on the 2nd.
FILA, which is making various efforts for sustainable management, explained that it joined the efforts to reduce carbon emissions by sympathizing with Jeju United's operational philosophy, which leads the spread of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
FILA produced 'recycled uniforms' for the Jeju United players participating in the carbon-neutral match. The uniforms, named 'Haenyeo Samchun,' were made from recycled yarn using discarded plastic bottles. The yarn, certified by the global eco-friendly certification GRS (Global Recycle Standard), and the uniform packaging materials were also made from recycled paper. Packing stickers and tags were produced using natural ink and sugarcane byproducts that do not cause pollution, demonstrating efforts to practice carbon neutrality.
FILA also set up a FILA Zone where representative sustainable products can be seen in one place. They introduced beachcombing design T-shirts made from sustainable materials, as well as the Astouch shoes and Earth Feel apparel collections, engaging with fans.
