Fire Authorities Dispatched to Shaking at Jongno Le Meilleur Building... 1 Person Rescued
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Fire authorities responded to reports that the Le Meilleur Building located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, was shaking.
At around 10:24 a.m. on the 1st, the Jongno Fire Station received multiple reports that the building was shaking. The command vehicle and firefighting personnel arrived at the scene at approximately 10:29 a.m. A total of 54 firefighters were dispatched. Subsequently, at 10:39 a.m., an evacuation announcement was made. It is reported that about 1,000 people evacuated from the building.
The Jongno Fire Station identified that a cooling fan located on the upper floors of Building A in the Le Meilleur Building was damaged. The fire department and Jongno District Office are conducting a safety inspection within the Le Meilleur Building. Fire authorities have requested building safety inspection experts to analyze the exact cause.

One person was rescued. An elderly person, Mr. A, who lived on the 16th floor of the building, was evacuated to the ground floor with the help of firefighters. Mr. A said he did not feel the shaking and heard the evacuation announcement but stayed inside the building due to mobility difficulties.
