Jugeonhyeop and HUG Hold Ceremony for 'Support for Renovation and Rental Fees of Elderly Veterans' Housing'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] The Korea Housing Builders Association (hereinafter referred to as KHBA) and the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (hereinafter referred to as HUG) jointly held the '2022 National Merit Veterans Old House Repair and Tenant Fund Support Ceremony' at Jeongyeongryeong Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, the day before, the 30th announced.
About 100 people attended the ceremony, including Park Minsik, Commissioner of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Kim Hongmok, Director of Housing Welfare Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Lee Byunghun, Vice President of HUG, Lee Jongchan, Chairman of the Udang Education and Culture Foundation, representatives of housing companies participating in the old house repair support project, and representatives of national merit veterans.
To commemorate the 29th anniversary of the 'National Merit Veterans Housing Condition Improvement Project' this year, government awards such as the National Medal, Presidential Citation, and Prime Minister Citation, as well as the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Citation, Commissioner of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Citation, and plaques of appreciation were presented to 36 companies that provided free repairs for old houses at the event.
The newly established National Medal this year was awarded to Jeil Construction. The Presidential Citation was awarded to two companies, Seohan and Donggi General Construction, and the Prime Minister Citation was awarded to three companies: Hwaseong Development, Halla Gongyeong, and Geohyeon Industry.
Additionally, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Citation was awarded to five companies: Bogwang General Construction, Gwangshin General Construction, Nammyung Construction, Deokcheon Construction, and Raon Housing. The Commissioner of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Citation was awarded to eight companies: Daesin E&D, Dongwoo CM Construction, Dongmyeong General Construction, Bricks Construction, Yuto Development Phase 1, Jiwon Holdings, Cheongang Development, and Taewan Construction.
Seventeen companies, including Sunyoung General Construction, which participated in this project for the first time, received plaques of appreciation from the Commissioner of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.

KHBA and HUG have been promoting the National Merit Veterans Housing Condition Improvement Project annually since 1994 as part of their social contribution activities. This year, 107 housing companies affiliated with KHBA provided free repairs for a total of 124 old houses of national merit veterans, and HUG supported a total of 500 million won in housing rental funds for 97 homeless national merit veteran households.
