Yeonggwang-gun to Accept Subsidy Applications for Electric Vehicles and Electric Kickboards Starting from the 4th of Next Month
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 29th that starting from the 4th of next month, it will begin accepting applications for subsidies for PM (electric bicycles, electric kickboards) along with the second half of the year electric vehicle orders.
This year, subsidies will be provided for the purchase of 39 electric passenger cars, 25 ultra-small electric cars, and 21 electric cargo vehicles in the second half of the year, and PM subsidies will be supported for 50 units, limited to 300,000 KRW per person.
The subsidies for electric vehicles are up to 14.5 million KRW for electric passenger cars, up to 9.65 million KRW for ultra-small electric cars, and 21.5 million KRW for electric cargo vehicles, with the subsidy amounts varying by vehicle type.
Among electric passenger cars, the most in-demand Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 receive 14.5 million KRW in support, and for electric cargo vehicles, the Hyundai Porter 2 and Kia Bongo 3 each receive 21.5 million KRW.
Applicants must be individuals or corporations with an address in the county at least three months prior to the application date, and subsidy applications must be made through the vehicle manufacturer or importer after signing a purchase contract for the electric vehicle.
For PM (electric bicycles, electric kickboards), anyone who is a county resident with the same address requirement as electric vehicles and holds a motor vehicle license or higher can apply.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the county office's e-mobility industry department with a driver's license and a copy of the resident registration.
Additionally, it is mandatory to complete the P.M. safety education conducted by the E-Mobility Association.
The supported models include products from Motovelo, KJ Motors, and Ecoi that have obtained KC certification and include safety helmets. Detailed information can be found in the PM announcement section of the Yeonggwang-gun website's public notices.
Meanwhile, in accordance with the revision of the Eco-friendly Vehicle Act, the county will operate a crackdown and guidance period on electric vehicle charging obstruction acts until next month and plans to impose fines starting in August.
