Gwangyang City Confirms New Vision System Reflecting Eighth Term Mayoral Administration Goals
Opening the Era of Emotion, Warm Gwangyang
Administrative Goal: Sustainable Global Future City Gwangyang
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do, announced that it has finalized a new vision system containing the slogan and administrative goals for the 8th term of the elected mayor, which will launch on July 1.
The finalized slogan is “Era of Inspiration, Warm Gwangyang,” and the administrative goal is “Sustainable Global Future City Gwangyang.”
The slogan “Era of Inspiration, Warm Gwangyang” expresses the will of Mayor-elect Jeong In-hwa to create an era of inspiration where all citizens are happy and to build a warm community where no citizen is left out.
The administrative goal expressing the city’s future vision, “Sustainable Global Future City Gwangyang,” represents the realization of a sustainable development global city through harmony and balance by pursuing sustainable economic growth, an inclusive society, and a clean and stable environment, enabling a more valuable life not only in the present but also in the future.
Along with this, the administrative policies were presented as ▲Inclusive city where everyone prospers ▲Citizen-centered open city ▲Sustainable innovative city.
The promotion strategies to achieve the administrative goals and policies were finalized as ▲Great transformation of Gwangyang’s economy through revitalizing people’s livelihoods and fostering new growth industries ▲Completion of a customized welfare platform for each life cycle ▲Establishment of a youth-friendly city where young people can realize their dreams ▲Creation of a sustainable human city by expanding green infrastructure ▲Implementation of a tourism and cultural city enjoyed by citizens in their daily lives ▲Realization of a desirable rural and fishing village and a vibrant agriculture and forestry industry ▲Realization of transparent and fair autonomous administration through participation and innovation.
To establish the vision system, the city started by forming a working TF in May, held several meetings for consultation, finalized three final candidates through the mayoral transition committee and reports and reviews by the mayor-elect, and then confirmed the vision system through a survey and a final selection meeting.
The survey was conducted from the 16th to the 23rd (8 days) targeting citizens and public officials via the city’s official SNS, website, and internal network for public officials, with over 10,000 participants, reflecting high expectations for the 8th term of Gwangyang City.
According to the survey results, the slogan ranked first was “Era of Inspiration, Warm Gwangyang,” chosen by 51% of respondents, far ahead; second was “Inspired Administration, Gwangyang Era” with 27%; and third was “Gwangyang, Keep Inspiring” with 21%.
Also, the top administrative goal was “Era of Gwangyang, a Place of Inspired Life Together,” chosen by 41%, followed by “Sustainable Global Future City Gwangyang” at 31%, and “Sustainable Inspired City Gwangyang” at 27%.
Since the keyword “inspiration” overlapped in the first-place slogan and administrative goal, the slogan was finalized as the first-place “Era of Inspiration, Warm Gwangyang,” and the administrative goal was decided as the second-place “Sustainable Global Future City Gwangyang,” which expresses the city’s future vision, considering that it ranked first in the public officials’ survey.
Mayor-elect Jeong In-hwa said, “The administrative vision system is the core value expressing the direction and goals of Gwangyang City’s 8th term administration,” and added, “Together with the citizens, we will create a warm Gwangyang where no one is left out, a happy era of inspiration, and a sustainable global future city as the citizens wish.”
