[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family will conduct pilot training on 'Prevention of Secondary Victimization in Cases of Violence Against Women' for investigative agencies such as the police, prosecutors, and labor inspectors starting this year.
On the 29th, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced that it conducted a demand survey for pilot training targeting the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Supreme Prosecutors' Office, National Police Agency, and Korea Coast Guard, and from July, professional instructors will be dispatched to 64 locations that expressed interest to provide training.
Professional instructors appointed by the Institute for Gender Equality Education will visit the respective agencies or conduct training remotely. The training content includes the concept of secondary victimization in violence against women, secondary victimization occurring during investigation or trial stages, secondary victimization during supplementary investigations or corrective measures, and practical investigation training focused on case examples by investigative agency and type.
To support secondary victimization prevention education for investigative agencies, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family distributed nine types of materials including educational textbooks, standard lecture plans, and guides (investigation reference handbooks) to prosecutors, police, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Last year, a common lecture video for investigative agencies was developed and opened as a job training course on the National Learning Platform, and development of advanced lecture videos for investigative agencies is underway.
