Gyeongbuk Education Foundation Awards Scholarships to Descendants of War Veterans
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education and Scholarship Foundation is taking a commemorative photo with the awardees after the scholarship award ceremony for descendants of veterans.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Scholarship Foundation held a scholarship award ceremony on June 27 at the Gyeongbuk Office of Education for the descendants of national veterans who participated in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
In commemoration of June as the 'Month of Patriots and Veterans,' scholarships were awarded to 20 descendants of national veterans who participated in the Korean War and the Vietnam War, currently enrolled in elementary, middle, and high schools within the province, recommended by each veterans' association. To consider the school semester, five students from nearby schools attended as representatives.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Scholarship Foundation had previously awarded scholarships to 12 descendants of national veterans in 2020 and 20 descendants in 2021.

Chairman Lim Jong-sik said, "We owe our present to the noble sacrifices of those who fought to protect democracy, and I believe that remembering and repaying these sacrifices is one way to educate the spirit of patriotism." He added, "I hope the students receiving scholarships this time grow up with pride as descendants of the Republic of Korea's national veterans."
