Seongnam-si Conducts Emergency Rainy Season Inspections at 81 Construction Sites
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct safety inspections of construction sites until the 15th of next month to prevent disaster accidents caused by ground collapse during the rainy season.
The safety inspection targets are 81 large construction sites with 7 or more floors or a total floor area of 2,000㎡ or more.
Seongnam City will deploy 18 inspectors in 6 teams to each construction site to check whether drainage plans have been established according to expected rainfall, the status of flood prevention materials and equipment, and the installation status of drainage facilities.
They will also examine the safety of earth retaining facilities on cut and fill slopes, fall prevention facilities for falling objects, and the installation status of safety nets.
If any risk factors are found during the safety inspection, the city plans to take corrective action on site. For issues that are difficult to fix immediately, accident prevention measures will be prepared and tracked until the risk factors are eliminated.
