[Golf Topic] DP World Tour "LIV Golf Players Fined 150 Million Won" Disciplinary Action
[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…‘150 million won fine and suspension from 3 tournaments’.
The DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour) has imposed sanctions on players who participated in the LIV Golf Invitational Series tournaments sponsored by Saudi Arabian capital. On the 25th (Korean time), it announced, "Players who participated in the LIV Golf opening event must pay a fine of 100,000 pounds (150 million won) and will be banned from participating in 3 tournaments starting in early July." The DP World Tour is an organization leading the world men's golf scene along with the PGA Tour.
The PGA Tour has already imposed severe sanctions preventing its affiliated players from participating in the LIV series tournaments. On the other hand, the DP World Tour had not announced sanctions against players who competed in the LIV series, leading to speculation that it might be leaning more towards the LIV series than the PGA Tour. The DP World Tour stated, "If players continue to participate in LIV series tournaments without permission, we will consider additional sanctions."
