[Weather] Monsoon Starts Tomorrow... Up to 120mm in Seoul and the Metropolitan Area

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Starting Thursday the 23rd, the rainy season will begin nationwide, with up to 120mm of rain expected through the weekend.
By the 24th, 30 to 100mm of rain is forecast for the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungcheong region, northern Gyeongbuk, Jeolla region, and inland western Gyeongnam.
Areas expecting the heaviest rainfall include Seoul, Incheon, northern Gyeonggi, northern Gangwon Yeongseo, Jeolla region, and Jeju Island, where more than 120mm of rain will pour.
Gangwon Yeongdong, southern Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam (excluding inland western areas), and Ulleungdo and Dokdo will receive 10 to 70mm of rain.
Especially in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon Yeongseo, strong and heavy rain of about 30 to 50mm per hour accompanied by gusts and thunder and lightning will fall from the afternoon through the night.
This rain will be concentrated in many places over a short period, so special caution is required for vehicle operation and facility management.

The morning low temperature is forecast to be 20 to 24 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high temperature 24 to 32 degrees Celsius. Sea waves will be 0.5 to 2.5 meters off the East Sea coast, and 0.5 to 3.0 meters off the West Sea and South Sea coasts. Wave heights in the outer seas (about 200km from the coastline) are expected to be 0.5 to 4.0 meters in the East Sea, and 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the West Sea and South Sea.
