Gwangju Buk-gu Celebrates 100th 'Hope Academy'... Guest Lectures by Notable Figures Until November
Professor Kim Young-sik's First Lecture "Communicate with Laughter" on the 22nd
A Total of 5 Sessions Held Both In-Person and Online Until November
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju announced on the 21st that it will operate the lifelong learning liberal arts lecture series "Hope Academy," which is celebrating its 100th session this year, until November.
First, on the 22nd, Professor Kim Youngsik, director of the International Laughter Yoga Culture Institute (Nambu University), will give the 100th and first lecture of the year titled "Communicate with Laughter" in the meeting room on the 3rd floor of Buk-gu Office.
On the 20th of next month, Director Lee Yujin of the Green Transition Research Institute will present "The Earth's Last Warning," and on September 27th, composer Kim Yuseong's "Cultural Events, Meeting with Local Artists" will be held at the Buk-gu Cultural Center.
On October 26th, singer Park Jiheon will hold a "Parent Empathy Talk Concert," and on November 17th, Director Lim Yonghan of the Korean Historical Classics Research Institute will give a lecture titled "Interesting War History."
All lectures can be watched live through the official Buk-gu Office YouTube channel and can be rewatched for one week.
Director Moon said, "Hope Academy, which started as 'Economic Academy' in 2007 and has become a representative lifelong learning liberal arts lecture series of Buk-gu, has reached its 100th session this year," adding, "We will continue to operate it steadily so that it can become a program that gives hope and inspiration in the lives of residents."
Meanwhile, Buk-gu has been recognized for its contributions to spreading the local lifelong learning culture, receiving awards such as the Minister of Education Award at the Korea Lifelong Learning Awards, the Korea Education Donation Award, and being selected as a lifelong learning city for the disabled.
