[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] The Gwangju Association of the Korea Security Guards Association Central Committee announced on the 21st that it is operating a 'Safety Security Officer' certification course.
This certification is open to anyone aged 18 or older and systematically verifies whether they possess professional skills related to safety.
Safety Security Officers are responsible for protecting lives from dangers such as disasters, safety accidents, and crimes in various places like schools and construction sites.

Yeom Haesuk, president of the Gwangju Association, emphasized, "We must first check the seven major chronic safety neglect practices," and added, "Now, holders of professional certifications are needed."
She further explained, "Safety Security Officers can serve as a countermeasure for safety issues that can be resolved with simple inspections, such as illegal parking, blocked emergency exits and stored items, speeding and overloaded driving, not wearing seat belts, not wearing protective gear at construction sites, carrying flammable materials during hiking, and not wearing life jackets."
