Metacraft Web Novel Platform 'Novelpia' Records 5 Million Daily Views on Works
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Metacraft Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoo Jungseok) announced on the 21st that its web novel platform ‘Novelpia’ recorded 5 million daily views.
This achievement is considered highly meaningful as it was exceptionally attained amid the subscription-based platform services, which surged during the COVID-19 pandemic, facing difficulties such as slowed subscriber growth and poor revenue models after the endemic phase.
In fact, Novelpia attracted 1 million cumulative subscribers in May, just one year after its establishment, and showed rapid growth by additionally gathering 100,000 members in about a month.
Moreover, it is evaluated as a platform where both authors and readers can win-win by providing high-quality content through bold initiatives such as holding various contests to secure diverse web novel IPs and introducing a payment system for authors based on the number of views.
In particular, the ‘Creation of Heaven and Earth Contest’ with a total prize of 200 million KRW, held from April 1st, led the diversification of web novel genres with about 4,000 original and fresh works submitted.
Following this, the ‘Masterpiece Adult Contest’ scheduled for July will offer a wide range of genres for adult web novel authors and readers, while also serving as an opportunity to discover adult IPs.
