LG CNS Launches Logistics Robot Subscription Service 'RaaS'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] LG CNS announced on the 21st that it will newly launch a ‘Logistics Robot Subscription Service (RaaS)’.
LG CNS’s ‘Logistics Robot Subscription Service’ is a business model where logistics robots are subscribed to and used only as much as needed when required. Previously, e-commerce, distribution, and manufacturing companies that needed logistics robots had to spend hundreds of billions of won at once to purchase them. LG CNS’s ‘Logistics Robot Subscription Service’ helps solve the pain points of such high initial costs. Customers can pay in installments as an annual subscription fee during the contract period.
LG CNS plans to offer various logistics automation robots on a subscription basis. The logistics automation robots include ▲ ‘AutoStore,’ a cube-shaped logistics automation robot capable of storing, stacking, and moving products ▲ ‘AI Picking Robot,’ which accurately picks up products by identifying their characteristics using AI ▲ ‘Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV),’ suitable for repeatedly transporting products along fixed routes ▲ ‘Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR),’ which senses its surroundings with sensors and autonomously finds routes to transport and stack products.
LG CNS also provides a cloud-based logistics center control system as a subscription service. Customers can access the cloud from a designated Internet Protocol (IP) and monitor and analyze logistics data such as product movement paths, frequency of movement, and product throughput collected using LG CNS’s technologies like AI and IoT. Based on this, they can improve product shipping performance and optimize robot operations.
LG CNS is expanding its business in the robot market by successfully domesticating AI sorting robots. Last year, it ranked first with about a 30% market share in the domestic logistics automation market, estimated at 810 billion won.
