Opening of Summer Water Playground at Gwanaksan Sillim Valley
[Seoul District News] Gwanak-gu Opens Cool Water Playground for Children and Families from July 11 to End of August
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) announced that the ‘Gwanaksan Sillim Valley Water Playground,’ which will cool off the midsummer heat, will open on July 11.
The urban water playground, which had been closed due to COVID-19 social distancing measures, will be reopened after three years.
‘Gwanaksan Sillim Valley’ is an ideal urban water playground where visitors can enjoy a pleasant rest in a comfortable forest environment. This reopening will provide comfort and vitality to residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The valley water playground is 130 meters long and 18 to 30 meters wide, with an average water depth of 0.4 meters in an open forest space, allowing children to play safely in the water.
Additionally, the surrounding natural stones have been maintained to secure safe passage, and convenience facilities such as wooden decks, shade tents, and outdoor tables are fully equipped, making it convenient for family visitors.
The district plans to conduct weekly water quality tests regularly and install safety facilities such as life tubes and safety ropes to ensure safe operation of the water playground.
Along with this, four staff members capable of emergency first aid will be assigned, and a constant communication system with the 119 Mountain Rescue Team will be maintained to thoroughly prepare for emergency safety accidents.
The ‘Gwanaksan Sillim Valley Water Playground’ will operate until August 31, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
