"Convenience Store Partners with Bank" 7-Eleven Opens Financial Specialty Store with DGB Daegu Bank
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] A future-oriented financial specialty store, combining the expertise of convenience store Seven Eleven and DGB Daegu Bank, has made its debut.
On the 20th, according to Seven Eleven, in partnership with DGB Daegu Bank, they opened the DGB Daegu Bank Financial Specialty Store at Daegu Naedang Station, which integrates a convenience store and a digital financial platform launched on the 16th.
The newly opened financial specialty store is a model that fuses Seven Eleven’s future-oriented platform “Food Dream,” specialized with differentiated food offerings, and DGB Daegu Bank’s “Digital Self Corner.” The total area is 70 pyeong, including 20 pyeong for the DGB Daegu Bank Digital Self Corner.
The Seven Eleven financial specialty store is equipped with one DGB Daegu Bank digital kiosk and two ATMs. It has been newly designed as a bright and sophisticated open space, moving away from the booth-type 365 corner operated by traditional banks. Through the digital kiosk and ATMs, customers can issue deposit and withdrawal passbooks, check cards, Happy Pay, and card-type OTPs, handle various reporting tasks, register palm vein information, and receive 24-hour financial services excluding video consultation services.
There is also a specialized space available for citizens to use as a place for rest and meetings. Inside the store, a trendy designed resting area called “DGB ZONE” has been prepared, and outside, a “Wing Station” for shared electric scooter charging service has been installed. By combining the convenience store’s diverse food and convenience services with the digital financial platform and resting space, customers can enjoy shopping and financial services in a one-stop manner.
The newly opened financial specialty store is the first outcome of the strategic business agreement signed between Seven Eleven and DGB Daegu Bank. In April, Seven Eleven and DGB Daegu Bank agreed to cooperate in building a fusion-type specialty channel that breaks down the boundaries between convenience stores and banks, and to mutually strive to open collaborative stores where convenience stores exist inside banks and banks inside convenience stores.
With the opening of this financial specialty store, both companies expect various synergy effects such as additional customer acquisition and cost reduction, and plan to continue their partnership by opening more financial specialty stores within the year and promoting free ATM fees at Seven Eleven.
