[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Chuncheon City announced on the 17th that the "2022 Chuncheon Sul Festa" will embark on a five-month-long journey starting from the 18th.
The "Chuncheon Sul Festa" is an event aimed at increasing rice consumption in the region and boosting farmers' income by spreading the value of traditional liquor.
The main event will take place over two days, October 7th and 8th. It is planned as a platform to build consensus for Chuncheon to become a hub for traditional liquor.
Following the official opening ceremony, the program will include performances, lectures, traditional liquor exhibitions and sales, as well as hands-on experiences such as Makgeolli brewing and nuruk soap making.
Prior to this, pre-events will be held from June to September under three concepts: 'Chajagaju (酒)', 'Boreogaju (酒)', and 'Jaemiitju (酒)'.
Each concept features activities such as a Chuncheon liquor promotional truck, traditional liquor pubs linked with university festivals, traditional liquor famtours for families, and small-scale traditional liquor festivals with small business owners.
Meanwhile, the first pre-event marking the start of the "2022 Chuncheon Sul Festa," called "Sul愛Chwi愛," will be held on the 18th at Owlre Cafe.
Visitors can enjoy ongoing programs including traditional liquor promotion booths, traditional liquor and food sales, street performances, and talk concerts.
