Mokpo Coast Guard Special Crackdown on Illegal Use and Distribution of Duty-Free Fuel
From the 9th of this month to the 31st of next month, Maritime Duty-Free Fuel Distribution Order Will Be Restored
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Mokpo Maritime Police Station announced on the 16th that it will conduct a special crackdown on violations of maritime duty-free fuel distribution order for about two months from the 9th of this month to the 31st of next month.
This crackdown is being carried out to establish a sound distribution order of duty-free fuel and to prevent fraudulent acquisition, as the misuse of duty-free fuel is expected to increase due to the recent rise in oil prices.
Accordingly, the maritime police have formed a special task force centered on investigation and criminal affairs to collect intelligence on illegal distribution of duty-free fuel, while mobilizing available personnel such as patrol vessels and police substations to strengthen patrols in island areas and high-risk areas within the jurisdiction.
In addition, through this crackdown, a full survey of island areas will be conducted regarding illegal acquisition of duty-free fuel using false supporting documents and the use of duty-free fuel for purposes other than intended after acquisition.
