Kibo has been providing various services to enhance the technological capabilities and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In particular, it was recognized for its contributions to supporting the growth of SMEs and venture companies by increasing the commercialization potential of intellectual property through the operation of the New Technology Evaluation System (AIRATE) and the activation of technology transactions on the technology trading platform (Tech-Bridge).
The New Technology Evaluation System (AIRATE) improved the existing statistical model-based evaluation system into an AI collaboration-based system, contributing to intellectual property financing support for technology SMEs with growth potential. The technology trading platform (Tech-Bridge) is a platform that connects transfer-target technologies held by public sectors such as research institutes and universities with the desired introduction technologies needed by SMEs, facilitating a total of 4,732 technology transfers.
Additionally, the Intellectual Property Mutual Aid system, introduced domestically for the first time in August 2019 in cooperation with the Korean Intellectual Property Office, is an intellectual property financing system designed to alleviate the burden of intellectual property costs and intellectual property dispute risks and support overseas expansion. It has contributed to the protection of technology for SMEs and mid-sized companies and the establishment of a research and development (R&D) safety net for SMEs. As of the end of May this year, the cumulative number of enrolled companies reached approximately 11,000, with cumulative premium payments amounting to about 120 billion KRW, indicating successful establishment.
