On the 15th, LG Electronics announced that it will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CJ Logistics for joint development of logistics robots. The two companies will progressively work on ▲establishing optimized robot operation processes for various logistics hubs ▲joint development and advancement of an order picking system based on autonomous driving robots that find and sort ordered products ▲expanding the application of robot solutions within CJ Logistics' logistics centers.
Starting as early as next month, LG Electronics plans to supply logistics robot solutions including the 'LG CLOi CarryBot,' facility integration solutions within logistics centers, and control systems for managing multiple robots at CJ Logistics' large-scale logistics hub, Mega Hub Gonjiam. They also plan to consider expanding the application to other CJ Logistics hubs.
The LG CLOi CarryBot is a logistics robot specialized in carrying large quantities of goods loaded behind its main body to designated destinations. It is an evolved form of autonomous driving robot, a next-generation logistics robot that finds its own path rather than following a fixed route like traditional automated guided vehicles. Last month, LG Electronics completed radio certification for the CLOi CarryBot and conducted pilot operations at a major domestic logistics hub to verify the technology.
Based on its internalized robot technology, LG Electronics plans to focus not only on supplying logistics robots but also on building logistics solutions covering the entire last mile delivery process, which involves delivering consumer-ordered products from logistics hubs to end consumers.
