[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] Black box manufacturer Thinkware announced on the 14th that it will officially enter the global market by selling its gimbal camera Snap-G to North America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
Snap-G is the first product Thinkware introduced when entering the gimbal cam market in January. According to the company, it has achieved significant sales in seven countries including South Korea, the United States, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, and Cambodia within about five months since its domestic launch.
About two months after launching Snap-G in South Korea, Thinkware expanded its sales channels both online and offline by placing the product in a total of 26 offline stores, including major department stores and electronics markets. The company is leading the domestic gimbal cam market by releasing the recently introduced white version Snap-G called ‘Cream Snow’ and the ‘National Geographic 4K Gimbal Cam,’ which it exclusively sells under a National Geographic license.
A Thinkware official said, “Successfully entering the global market beyond South Korea within about five months of Snap-G’s launch means that Snap-G’s technology has been recognized worldwide.” He added, “We will expand our distribution network to enter all global regions including Europe and lead the ‘K-Gimbal trend’ through this.”
