According to the Associated Press on the 12th (local time), President Zelensky expressed in his nightly video address on the 11th that he takes pride in the Ukrainian defense forces' ability to halt Russia's advance in the eastern Donbas region.
He emphasized, "Remember how much Russia hoped to control the entire Donbas region by early May," adding, "The war has already lasted 108 days and it is already June. Donbas is holding strong."
President Zelensky also mentioned that although the end of the war is not yet in sight, Ukraine must do everything possible to make Russia regret its invasion.
He further claimed that Russia has suffered about three times more casualties than the Ukrainian forces.
