[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] The '8th Term Yeosu Mayor Transition Committee' was officially launched on the 10th to assist Jeong Gi-myeong, the elected mayor of Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, in performing his duties and to support the successful administration of the city.
The transition committee, which held a plaque ceremony and inauguration ceremony at Jinnam Sports Center at 3 p.m. on the 10th, is composed of 15 committee members and 12 advisory members in accordance with the 'Ordinance on the Operation of the Yeosu Mayor Transition Committee.'
The committee is divided into four subcommittees: Planning and Administration, Culture, Tourism and Education, Environment, Welfare and Health, and Urban Construction, Marine and Fisheries, and has begun practical work, operating until July 20.
According to Seo Wan-seok, chairman of the transition committee, this committee was formed as a practical committee by involving experts from various fields such as academia, civil society organizations, professional groups, women, and youth, considering professionalism, morality, and innovation.
The 8th Term Yeosu Mayor Transition Committee will perform necessary tasks for the transfer of the local government head, including grasping the organization, functions, and budget status of the local government, preparing to set the policy direction of the local government, and other preparations such as the inauguration ceremony, in accordance with Article 105 of the Local Autonomy Act.
During the election campaign period, the transition committee will meticulously review the pledges promised to citizens by sector, examine proposed matters, and after approval by the mayor-elect and adoption of the report, plans to publish a white paper.
