View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] A fire broke out on the morning of the 8th on a fishing vessel moored at the west breakwater of Sangju-ri, Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam.
According to Sacheon Maritime Police Station, at 6:02 a.m. that day, they received a report of a fire on a 4.01-ton coastal gillnet fishing vessel, and Sacheon Maritime Police responded to extinguish the fire.
The maritime police confirmed that the captain initially extinguished the fire in the wheelhouse and, in cooperation with Namhae Fire Station, completed the suppression of potential fires inside the vessel.
The fire caused damage to electronic equipment inside the wheelhouse, with the fire department estimating property damage of about 5 million KRW, but there were no casualties.

Sacheon Maritime Police plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire based on statements that an unidentified fire broke out in the engine room at the moment the vessel was started using a spare battery.
